With the 2022 summer transfer window closed, we round up the done deals, and some of the players linked with moves in and out of Arsenal.

Villa rejected Arsenal's final £25m offer for Douglas Luiz

Aston Villa have rejected Arsenal's third and final offer of £25m for midfielder Douglas Luiz on Deadline Day.

Arsenal also saw bids of £20m and £23m rejected by Villa on Thursday and even Villa's capture of Leander Dendoncker from Wolves didn't shift their position on the Brazilian.

Sky Sports News had been told that four clubs - Atletico Madrid, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool - were interested in signing Luiz ahead of the transfer deadline.

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl said: "Ainsley is at a good point in his career, with a lot of experience already, but he is also still a player with potential, and he is someone who can definitely help us.

"I think he fits well with us and can develop his game even further during his time here. He can also play in different positions, which is always a good thing, and I am pleased to welcome him as part of our squad."

Hector Bellerin has also returned to Barcelona, signing a one-year deal with he LaLiga club. Arsenal have a sell on clause.

Mikel Arteta said of Bellerin: "We today say goodbye to Hector and we thank him so much for his loyalty and commitment to Arsenal Football Club. During his 11 years with Arsenal, Hector won three FA Cups and made nearly 250 appearances - such a huge contribution to the club.

"I'm privileged to have played in the same squad as Hector for three seasons, wearing the Arsenal shirt and sharing many great moments on and off the football pitch together. We thank you Hector and wish you and your family all the best for your return to Barcelona."

Youri Tielemans - Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans - a long-term Arsenal target - had been the subject of a "mystery offer" just over 24 hours ahead of Thursday's deadline (Daily Express, September 1); Leicester City were set to slash their asking price for Youri Tielemans to £38m because of his contractual situation, boosting Arsenal's hopes of signing the midfielder (The Sun, August 24); Leicester are willing to let star player Tielemans join Arsenal for free next summer (The Sun on Sunday, August 14); Arsenal were handed a boost in their pursuit of Youri Tielemans with Leicester City looking to replace their in-demand midfielder with Lyon's Houssem Aouar (Daily Mail, August 6); Leicester expected Arsenal to move for Tielemans but are yet to receive any offers for the Belgium midfielder (Guardian, August 2).

Danilo - Arsenal were exploring a move for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo with Mikel Arteta needing depth in midfield because of injuries to Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny (Daily Mail, August 31).

Douglas Luiz - Arsenal and Chelsea were waiting in the wings for Douglas Luiz to make a call on his Aston Villa future, with the Midlands club still hoping he will sign a new contract (The Sun, August 31).

Mykhaylo Mudryk - Brentford were ready to make a club-record £26m offer for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mudryk, who had appeared to be on the verge of a move to Arsenal (The Athletic, August 31); Mudryk liked a post on Instagram claiming Arsenal were interested in signing him before Thursday's transfer deadline (Daily Mirror, August 31); Arsenal were reported to be exploring a move for Shakhtar Donetsk star Mudryk after being offered Real Madrid's Marco Asensio, reports suggest (The Sun, August 30).

Pedro Neto - Arsenal were not expecting to make any more signings this summer after a deal for Wolves' Neto hit the rocks (The Sun, August 27); Arsenal had set their sights on Neto but fear that the Wolves winger could prove to be too expensive this summer (Daily Telegraph, August 24).
