The half-life, or T1/2 as it’s sometimes called, determines how fast your body will be able to metabolize and eliminate the substance from your system. It is the time required for a drug to be diluted to exactly half of its starting concentration or amount.
Anavar has a very short half-life of only about 8 hours, which means your body will get rid of it faster than other steroids with a half-life that can last for a number of days. For older adults, however, the half-life can be longer at around 12-14 hours.

Do Steroids Show Up On Drug Tests?
Yes, but it depends on what type of drug test is being administered. Anavar or oxandrolone can show up on certain, specialized drug tests, but not in all types of drug tests.
For instance, steroids like Anavar will typically not show up in standard 12-panel drug tests. Typically, a 12-Panel Urinalysis drug test examines for active chemicals in different substances, including cocaine, PCP, marijuana, amphetamines, Quaaludes, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, opiates, methadone, propoxyphene, Oxycodone/Percocet, and Ecstasy/MDMA.
