Bringing your own golf cart? Golf carts are welcome, but beginning June 1, 2024, for the safety of everyone at the resort, guests bringing golf carts must be prepared to present proof of insurance and sign an agreement and waiver.

If you have a golf cart and a giant Toy Hauler, then by all means bring it. You can park it in your campsite. And you're done.

Loop 300 – Preferred location, this is a pet friendly loop, and located next to the dog park. Loops 400, 500 & 700 – Premium sites, just across from Settlement Depot. All of these loops are pet friendly.

Disney's Fort Wilderness isn't designed to be navigated by car. There is no parking available at the Settlement or Meadow area for full-sized vehicles. For those of you renting or driving your own car, there is space for one car at your cabin.

Complimentary Standard Parking

Each campsite provides parking space for one (1) motorized vehicle.

There are tons of places on Fort Wilderness property where you can take the golf carts, but there is not a designated pathway for carts to get to Disney's Wilderness Lodge. There is a walking trail you can take that is about a mile long and is quite beautiful. You might even spot some wildlife along the way!

Just make sure that your golf cart is equipped with head and tail lights and is not an off-road, ATV, utility or construction-type cart, and you are good to go. Be sure to take a look at the golf cart rules and regulations when you arrive at Fort Wilderness, and most importantly, have an incredible time!

Preferred loops are: 100, 200, and 300 (pet-friendly). Loop 100 is ridiculously close to the marina, and also to the Settlement Trading Post. Certain sites in 100 are so close to the Settlement Trading Post that you can walk to that porch in 10 to 30 seconds, and enjoy it after hours as though it was your own backyard.

Is there a charge for visiting with my dogs? Yes. If you are staying at Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Disney's Port Orleans Resort – Riverside or the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, a $50 per night charge (excluding tax) will be applied to the room account.

Early theme park entry is a benefit for Guests staying at a Walt Disney World resort hotel, including The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. Extended Evening Hours are an added benefit for Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resorts and Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts.

What time can you pick up a golf cart at Fort Wilderness? ›

Golf carts are available for pickup at 1:00 PM and must be returned by 11:00 AM on the return date. The carts are available from Reception Outpost.

You do not need to be staying at the resort. They may be rented up to a year in advance by calling (407) 824-2742.

Carriages fit up to 4 adults, or 2 adults and 3 small children. Each horse-drawn carriage ride costs $65. Advance reservations are highly recommended, as availability is limited. Reservations can be made on this page or with the My Disney Experience app up to 60 days prior to your visit.

An easy way to see some of the Magic Kingdom fireworks is to head for the Fort Wilderness beach. They will pipe in the music each night and although it isn't a clear view, as you have the old Discovery Island between you and the park, you can still see quite a bit above the tree line.

You are allowed to make a reservation at the Fort Wilderness Campsites for 30 consecutive days. You can then make another reservation to begin on the day of the check-out for the first reservation and do that for another 30 days. You can actually do this for as long as you wish.

Fort Wilderness may not be for everyone, but I really loved it. It has convenient bus access to the parks just like the other resorts, but it's also distinctly its own place. It kind of felt like staying in two different resorts at once. There were the parks, and then there was the campground.

While golf carts are not allowed at the Disneyland Resort, Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs), scooters, and wheelchairs are allowed. You can either rent them at the Disneyland Resort or bring your own to use!
