I've noticed some anime are available to watch for free. on mal. But if it's free it's probably not legal right? But why would MAL put anime on illegally? So is it actually legal to watch anime on MAL or is it not? Thanks.

it's for keeping records, though a few animes can be streamed by Crunchyroll directly on mal
