So I love coffee. Really, I do – I promise. But I’ve found something lately that has kind of taken up the spot of Favorite Morning Drink.
It tastes nothing like coffee! It is warm, but not quite in the same way.
But after drinking this morning detox drink for the last few months, I have foundit gives me energy and the ingredients help to naturally cleansemy body – and I am addicted. Probably not quite as much as coffee, my love for coffee is the stuff sonnets are made of. 😉 But it’s my new go-to drink. I save coffee for special occasions.

Here’s to detox!
My Morning Detox Drink
Ingredients
- juice of 1 lemon (I use this to help get the most juice)
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar - 2 teaspoons blackstrap molasses
- 2 teaspoons raw honey
- 1 drop lemon essential oil (optional, but greatÂfor detox, see notes)
- 1 drop protective essential oil blend (optional, but great for immunity, see notes)
- 1/2 to 1 cup warm filtered water – just add as much as you wish. I usually do about 6 oz myself.
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
How to Make A Morning Detox Drink
- Warm your water on the stove, very briefly. You don’t want it to be hot, just warm.
- While your water is warming on the stove, add all the ingredients except for the cayenne pepper to a glass, and stir to mix well.
- Add warm water, and cayenne pepper. Stir, and drink slowly first thing in the morning.

UnitsScale

- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 teaspoons blackstrap molasses
- 2 teaspoons raw honey
- 1 drop lemon essential oil (optional)
- 1 drop protective essential oil blend (optional)
- 1/2 to 1 cup warm filtered water
- 1 dash cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Warm your water on the stove or kettle, to warm not hot.
- Add all the ingredients except for the cayenne pepper to a glass, and stir to mix well.
- Add warm water, and cayenne pepper.
- Stir, and drink slowly first thing in the morning.
Notes
- I use a straw (like this) to drink this drink, because I don’t want the acidic ingredients to hit my teeth. A straw is perfect for bypassing them! (Even though the lemon juice and ACV are acidic, when they are consumed by your body, they leave analkalineash, and are very, very beneficial to your health, so don’t fear using them!)
- Many times I end up heating my water too much – and adding a little cool water will easily make the right temp.
- Ionlyrecommend ingesting therapeutic grade essential oils.ÂClick here to contact me for more information on these essential oils!
- Onlyuse apple cider vinegar that is raw, unfiltered, and contains the “mother”. If it is bright orange and clear, it will not have the health benefits you are looking for!
- This drink has a strong taste – I love sour things so I don’t mind it at all. The sweetness of the molasses and honey definitely helps though.
- The cayenne leaves a bite, so be sure to add it at the end!
