  • No. PepperBall launchers are not considered to be a firearm by the ATF.

  • PepperBall launchers are powered by compressed CO2 or nitrogencartridges.

  • The standard shelf life of a PepperBall projectile is two years. After that time a projectile may still work but the potency will diminish over time.

  • No. PepperBall projectiles are specifically manufactured for use with PepperBall launchers. Our projectiles are superior to any other round on the market and other products will not match our quality specifications or be as effective. In addition, non-PepperBall rounds may cause damage to your launcher which may void your warranty.

  • PepperBall projectiles are highly frangible (breakable) and are designed to break on impact even on clothing such as a puffy jacket, or loose outer wear.

  • Yes. Since coming to market in 1998, PepperBall has been deployed by more than 10,000 state, county, municipal, and federal law enforcement agencies across the globe. While its origins were in crowd management, PepperBall is being adopted by many agencies as a critical tool that helps reduce lethality in day-to-day policing.

    PepperBall is currently used by eight of the 10 largest law enforcement agencies in the United States, including NYPD, Chicago PD, Los Angeles PD, Los Angeles County Sheriff, Cook County Sheriff, Houston PD, New York State Police, and Pennsylvania State Police."

  • The purple color represents the INERT or practice rounds. The RED color indicates that there is LIVE PAVA in the projectile.

  • Active (LIVE) projectiles are filled with a fine PAVA powder and are designed to disperse into a cloud upon impact to incapacitate an attacker.

    These projectiles come at different concentrations of PAVA, allowing the user to select a more concentrated and irritating formula versus less so. The PepperBall PAVA cloud allows users to use the lowest level of force possible by simply breaking projectiles near a threat.

    Inert projectiles filled with a non-toxic powder which does not cause irritation and is designed for use in training or practice. They can also be used in locations or states where PAVA cannot be deployed."

  • The PepperBall PAVA powder is based on one of the hottest of the six capsaicinoids found in pepper plants. PepperBall® products contain only safe, pure, non-oil based PAVA and are non-flammable. Ingredient consistency ensures each projectile operates with quality and effectiveness.

  • No. The PepperBall launcher is much more powerful than a paintball gun and will cause the paintball to rupture upon firing. Thiscan permanently damage you PepperBall launcher. For this reason, you should not use any PepperBall launcher for paintballs,incompatible non-PepperBall projectiles or CO2 canisters as this may void your warranty.

  • PepperBall projectiles may be stored in a refrigerator but it will neither prolong or diminish shelf life. Note of caution, while PepperBall projectiles are waterproof, frequently removing and replacing the container in the refrigerator can cause condensation which is water vapor and could permeate the shell.
